Ergonomic Office

About Ergonomic Office

We're an independent editorial site covering ergonomic home office equipment — chairs, standing desks, keyboards, mice, monitors, and accessories. We exist because the home-office category got enormous, the marketing got loud, and most of the "best of" content online is generated from the same affiliate-network feeds without real research underneath.

Our methodology

Every roundup and review on this site is built from four sources:

  1. Manufacturer spec sheets — adjustment ranges, weight capacities, recline angles, mechanism types, materials, and warranty terms. We list these verbatim so you can compare apples to apples without marketing copy in the way.
  2. Owner forums and long-term review communities — r/ergonomics, r/MechanicalKeyboards, r/OfficeChairs, and the BIFL (Buy It For Life) community. These threads surface the failure modes that retail reviews miss: lumbar support that breaks at year three, switches that lose their click, mesh that stretches.
  3. Verified-purchase reviews across Amazon, the manufacturer's direct site, and major retailers — weighted for recency and filtered for the patterns that recur across hundreds of buyers rather than individual outliers.
  4. Occupational therapist and ergonomist guidance — published research on workstation ergonomics from sources like Cornell's ergonomics program and the published guidelines from ANSI/BIFMA. Some of the conventional wisdom in this category (e.g., "your monitor should be at eye level") is actually oversimplified or wrong.

What we don't do

We don't accept product samples in exchange for coverage. It changes how you write whether you mean it to or not, and the math doesn't work out for us long-term.

We don't publish "sponsored" reviews disguised as editorial picks. If we feature a product, we got there through research — never through payment from the manufacturer or retailer.

We don't quote live prices in our content. Office chair and desk prices fluctuate constantly with retailer promotions and manufacturer rebates. Every "Check price" link on this site routes to the retailer's current listing so you see the real number at the moment you click.

How we make money

Most outbound product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and end up buying, the retailer pays us a small commission at no additional cost to you. That commission funds the research hours behind every piece on this site.

You can read the full disclosure on our affiliate disclosure page.
